Dagenham & Redbridge beat AFC Wimbledon to reach the third round of the FA Cup – after fellow National League club Oldham Athletic missed out in dramatic fashion.

Josh Rees’ late goal gave the Daggers a 2-1 victory against the League Two Dons.

Their triumph came after goalkeeper Josh Keeley scored for Leyton Orient, who netted in stoppage time at the end of both normal time and extra time of their second-round tie against Oldham to snatch an incredible 2-1 win.

Manny Monthe’s goal looked like taking the Latics through, but on-loan Tottenham youngster Keeley sensationally equalised with a header nine minutes into added time. Just as the match seemed to be heading for a penalty shootout, Daniel Agyei scored a winner for the League One side.

It was a tough blow for Oldham, who were similarly close to reaching the 1994 final when Mark Hughes famously denied them with a last-minute equaliser for Manchester United.

Elsewhere, other non-league sides Wealdstone and Brackley Town were also unable to produce cup shocks.

National League side Wealdstone lost 2-0 at home to League One leaders Wycombe Wanderers, while National League North outfit Brackley worried Stockport County – also of League One – but lost 3-1.

Meanwhile, Salford City are in the third round for the first time in the club’s history – they won 2-0 at home to Cheltenham Town.

Lincoln City came back from two goals down to win 4-3 at Crawley Town, and Peterborough United also came from behind to beat Notts County by the same scoreline.

Jonny Smith’s goal in the final minute of extra time gave Wigan Athletic a 2-1 victory at Cambridge United.

Walsall are flying high in League Two but were beaten 4-0 at home by League One side Charlton Athletic.

Bristol Rovers and Accrington Stanley went through on penalties at the expense of Barnsley and Swindon Town respectively.

Morecambe beat Bradford City 1-0, Mansfield Town also won 1-0 at Stevenage, and Exeter City are through after a 2-0 home victory over Chesterfield.
