Rideau Carleton Casino joins ‘instrumental’ Ottawa Sport Hall of Fame sponsors for 2024 inductions

OTTAWA, ON – The Rideau Carleton Casino has joined the Ottawa Sport Hall of Fame as a multi-year sponsor in advance of May 28’s 2024 celebrations recognizing new inductees Dr. Mark Aubry, Mike Bullard, James Duthie, Lyndon Hooper and Luke Richardson, as well as the 1998-99 Ottawa 67’s and 1974 Ottawa Sooners honoured teams.

“We are incredibly pleased to welcome them to the fold. It gives us a big boost,” underlines Ottawa Sport Hall of Fame Chair Dave Best. “Rideau Carleton Casino is heavily involved with the sporting scene in Ottawa, and their presence is only going to continue to grow, so it’s very exciting for us to further build on opportunities to celebrate local sport together.”

Rideau Carleton Casino joins returning Ottawa Sport Hall Beer Sponsor Big Rig Brewery, along with Friends of the Hall Welch LLP and Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP, and supporters from the Ottawa Sports & Entertainment Group, Ottawa Senators and Ottawa Sooners.

“We’re so pleased to have long-standing relationships with so many of our partners,” Best adds. “The Sport Hall is a volunteer-driven organization that receives no grants or core funding. All of our proceeds go into our dinner and honouring Ottawa’s sporting heritage, and we could not recognize all those amazing people and moments properly without our sponsors. Their support is truly instrumental.”

Also contributing to the annual event’s success are suppliers such as Moneris payment processing, D’Urbano audio-visual, Lolacher’s Catering, Rogers TV broadcasting and Ottawa Sports Pages promotion/communications.

An exceptional lineup of auction items will be up for grabs at the event, including World Junior Hockey Championships gold medal game tickets, an Ottawa Senators suite, premium ticket packages to Ottawa Redblacks, Ottawa 67’s, Atlético Ottawa, Ottawa Blackjacks and Canada vs Scotland rugby games, plus travel, restaurant, beer and wine prizes, and sports memorabilia including a signed Claude Giroux Sens jersey.

A sold-out crowd of 400+ is set to attend the 2024 Ottawa Sport Hall of Fame ceremonies on May 28 at Lansdowne Park’s Horticulture Building.

The festivities begin at 5 p.m. with Networking & Cocktails, followed by Dinner & Presentations from roughly 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Post-event celebrations continue until 11 p.m.

A cash bar will run throughout the evening, while pay parking is available underground at Lansdowne.

Terry Marcotte will serve as master of ceremonies, while Erin Crowe will give the keynote speech. All of the new inductees and representatives from the honoured teams will be in attendance.
