It’s a long spring weekend, with changes Friday, Sunday and a few less on Monday.

More changes on Friday and Sunday than on Monday

Here’s a look at what’s open and closed in Ottawa this Easter long weekend.

Good Friday, March 29

Shops

  • Bayshore, Place d’Orlรฉans, Rideau Centre,ย St. Laurentย and Tanger Outlets malls areย closed.
  • Most groceryย stores areย closed. Some smallerย groceriesย and locationsย in certain areas can open on some holidays, so check with specific stores.
  • LCBO and Beer Store locations are closed.

City services

  • Curbside waste collection and most multi-unit waste collectionย moves toย Saturday. An exception is multi-unit garbage pickup is happening.
  • There are no city services atย City Hall,ย Ben Franklin Place, 580 Terry Fox Dr.,ย 255 Centrum Blvd., or the provincial courtย at 100 Constellation Dr.
  • All Ottawaย Public Library branches and services areย closed.
  • The city’s 311 contact centreย is open for urgent matters.
  • The Trail Road Waste Facility is open fewer hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • City child-care centres and dental clinicsย areย closed.
  • Theย Sexual Health Clinic andย satellite clinicsย are closed.
  • Theย Site programย at 179 Clarenceย St., isย closed, but the van operates as normalย from 5 to 11:30 p.m.

Parking and transitย 

  • All City of Ottawa parking regulations and restrictions apply.
  • OC Transpoย runs on aย Sunday schedule.
  • The on-demand pilot project in Blackburn Hamlet is running.
  • OC Transpo’s Rideau Centre customer service is closed.
  • Para Transpo regular trips have been cancelled. Riders can callย 613-560-5000 or use My Para Transpoย to book.

  • The National Gallery of Canada and the agriculture, aviation, history, nature, science and war museums are open.

Easter Sunday, March 31

Shops

  • All Ottawaย Public Library branches and services areย closed.

  • Normal cityย parking regulations and restrictions are in place.
  • OC Transpo is on a normal Sunday schedule.
  • The on-demand pilot project in Blackburn Hamlet is running.

  • Regularly scheduled Para Transpo tripsย on Sundayย are not automatically cancelled. Customers are reminded to suspend regular bookings if they do not need their trip.
